Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
6 HCU (~5 SRM)
Bitterness: 27 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.006
Alcohol: 5.9% v/v (4.6% w/w)
Water: Good old Longmont, CO tap water.
Grain: 1.0 lb. American Crystal 15°L
Steep: Steep Crystal Malt, in bag, for 45 minutes in 2 1/2 gallons of 155° water.
Rinse with 1 gallon of 155° water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.081 3.5 gallons
5.0 lb. Extra Light Dry Malt Extract
1.0 lb. Rice Syrup Solids
1 tsp Irish Moss at 30 minutes.
Hops: 1.0 oz. Amarillo (8.1% AA, 60 min.)
1.0 oz. Cascade (6.6% AA, 10 min.)
1.0 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: 11 gr. Danstar Nottingham Dry Ale Yeast.
Log: Fermentation in 6.5 gallon glass carboy for 9 days at ~ 68°. SG=1.008, rack to Secondary, glass carboy,
at 66°~68° until final gravity is stable. FG=1.006.
Dry hop, using 1 oz Cascade Pellet Hops, in the Secondary.
Carbonation: 2.8 volumes Keg: 12.1 psi @ 34°F
Tasting: Hop aroma and flavor are Very Nice!
01/11/04 - Brew day. 01/20/04 rack to secondary. 01/28/04 Kegged.
