OG: 1.063 FG: 1.014
Alcohol: 6.3% v/v (5.0% w/w)
Water: 1 tsp. Gypsum in South Pasadena tapwater before the steep.
Grain: 8 oz. American crystal 50L
8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Steep: In 1.5 Gal, no bags, for 30 min @ 155°. Rinse with 1 Gal @ 170°.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.105 3 gallons
3.3 lb. Light malt extract
4 lb. Light dry malt extract
Add Irish moss, 1 tsp @ 15 minutes remaining.
Hops: 2 oz. Nugget (12% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Nugget (12% AA, 45 min.)
1 oz. Nugget (12% AA, 30 min.)
2 oz. Cascade (5.9% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: I used White Labs American Pale Ale #1 (Sierra Nevada.)
Log: Fermented 70°. That's as cool as I could get it.
