Spider-Brau

Why Spider-Brau you ask? An egg case of baby spiders apparently hatched around the top edge of my brew pot as I began the boil...I had to keep a lid on it til I was sure I had them all removed...even then I plucked out 2 dead ones on top of my hot break...YUMMMMY!

Bitterness: 39 IBU
OG: 1.043 FG: 1.006
Alcohol: 4.8% v/v (3.8% w/w)
Water: charcoal filtered
Grain: 8 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. German Vienna
1 lb. Belgian biscuit
1 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Mash: 65% efficiency
mashed in 4 gal. @153 deg. for 75 min. Sparged with 4.5 gal.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.037 7 gallons
1 tsp. Irish moss for 15 min.
Hops: 1 oz. Northern Brewer (7.5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Perle (7.2% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Perle (7.2% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Racked onto American ale yeast cake
Log: Dry hop with 1 oz. cascade for 2 weeks
