Bitterness: 21 IBU
OG: 1.046 FG: 1.008

0 lb. 8 oz. American Vienna
Mash: 65% efficiency
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.069 3 gallons
4 lb. 0 oz. Light malt extract (Alexanders)
Added 1 tsp Irish Moss (15 minutes).
Hops: 0.6 oz. Perle (6.5% AA, 60 min.)
0.6 oz. Tettnanger (4.5% AA, 60 min.)
0.4 oz. Perle (aroma)
0.4 oz. Tettnanger (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast #2565 (Kölsch) - no starter made, just pitched contents of swelled smack-pack.
Tasting: This was my first attempt at the Kölsch style. I'm very happy with the
results - a light, thirst-quenching ale that has a slight lactic taste
(pleasing to me). I believe the Wyeast was critical in achieving the
flavor.
