Bitterness: 27 IBU
OG: 1.045 FG: 1.009
Alcohol: 4.7% v/v (3.7% w/w)
Grain: 8 oz. 2°L Crystal Malt
Steep: Nothing fancy, just grains in a grain bag. Take them out before the water boils.
Boil: minutes SG 1.057 4 gallons
4 lb. M&F Extra light DME
1 lb. M&F Wheat DME (55% Wheat Malt)
Irish Moss tossed in with 20 minutes remaining.
Hops: 1.125 oz. Tettnanger (7.5% AA, 60 min.)
.25 oz. Tettnanger (7.5% AA, 10 min.)
.25 oz. Tettnanger (7.5% AA, 1 min.)
Yeast: White Labs Kölsch yeast
Log: 5 days in Primary at 62°F
9 days in Secondary at 65°F
2 weeks in cold storage 35°F
Carbonation: 2.6 volumes Dried Malt Extract: 4.23 oz. for 4 gallons @ 40°F
Tasting: Pretty good. Was a little darker in color than I would have liked, but not due to recipe -- wort got a little carmelized during the boil causing the darker color.
