Downtown Brown

Yo fly bad-ass!! Nothing tops Downtown Brown!!!
An ale with caramel and chocolate flavours, UK cara malt
used in primary fermentation.

Type: All grain Size: 10 liters
Color:
41 HCU (~19 SRM)
Bitterness: 27 IBU
OG: 1.051 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 5.1% v/v (4.0% w/w)
Water: Christchurch NZ - tap water
Grain: 50g Wheat malt
50g British crystal 50-60L
70g British chocolate
85g British Cara malt
Mash: 40% efficiency
Grains ground in blender then added to water prior to boil.
Water then run through sieve and boil started.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.051 10 liters
1.5kg Light malt extract
50g Brown sugar
Hops: 10g NZ Green Bullet (12% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: Safale Dryed Yeast
Log: 70 gms of crushed UK cara malt used in primary fermentation.
