Biere de Freakin Biere

Not much in way of info on this style : patterned after New Belgium Brewing's "Biere de Mars", also using Northern Brewer's Kit's list of ingredients as basis of recipe.

8 HCU (~6 SRM)
Bitterness: 27 IBU
OG: 1.068 FG: 1.018
Alcohol: 6.4% v/v (5.0% w/w)
Water: None
Grain: .25 oz. Belgian aromatic
.25 oz. Gambrinus Honey Malt
Steep: Steep grains until just before boiling
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.058 3.5 gallons
4 lb. 8 oz. Laaglander Light dry malt extract
Caramelly profile from a longer-than-usual boil.
Irish Moss in last 15 min.
Hops: .75 oz. Styrian Goldings (5.5% AA, 90 min.)
.5 oz. Styrian Goldings (5.5% AA, 1 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast #3787 Trappist High Gravity.
For this size batch no starter is needed.
Log: Primary: 3 weeks @ 65° F
Secondary: 2 months @ 65° F
In bottle: 3 weeks @ 65° F then 2 1/2 months @ 35° F
Carbonation: Will be using Munton's Carb tabs -- 4 tabs per bottle.
(Will be using 16oz Grolsch type bottles)
Tasting: Will edit this section in about 6-9 months :)
