Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
60 HCU (~25 SRM)
Bitterness: 41 IBU
OG: 1.058 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 6.2% v/v (4.9% w/w)
Water: Using straight tap water
Grain: 4 oz. American crystal 20L
4 oz. Roasted barley
4 oz. Belgian Special B
4 oz. American crystal 120L
Steep: Grains go in a hop bag. Toss them in the water, light the burner, bring to a boil then remove bag squeezing out all the liquid.

Also adding the first hop addition with the grains, right when the burner is lit.
Boil: 45 minutes SG 1.116 2.5 gallons
2.75 lb. Light malt extract
4.75 lb. Amber malt extract
Hops: 1 oz. Zues (15.5% AA, 45 min.)
1 oz. Zues (15.5% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Mt. Hood (4.5% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Mt. Hood (aroma)
Yeast: 1172 Scottish ale yeast
Tasting: A deep ruby red with roasty bitterness and a touch of sweetness, this is a great beer with which to enjoy the fall season.
