Devil's Lake Honey Blonde

a simple and extremely light and crisp beer brewed specifically for a hot mid july camping weekend.

Type: All grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
4 HCU (~4 SRM)
Bitterness: 24 IBU
OG: 1.053 FG: 1.008
Alcohol: 5.7% v/v (4.5% w/w)
Grain: 4 lb. German Pilsner
2 lb. Wheat malt
1 lb. American crystal 10L
Mash: 70% efficiency
single step infusion mash for one hour. Strike at 150°
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.041 7 gallons
2.5 lb. Honey
add 1tsp irish moss and the honey at last 15 minutes of boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
.25 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 10 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: used left over 1056 american ale yeast from a previous beer started two days prior to re-activate.
Carbonation: force carbonated in keg.
