Quick Corriander Ale

Less than a full batch because it is so special.

Beer: Quick Corriander Ale Style: Belgian Pale Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 3.5 gallons
Color:
11 HCU (~7 SRM)
Bitterness: 26 IBU
OG: 1.050 FG: 1.009
Alcohol: 5.3% v/v (4.1% w/w)
Water: Filtered tap water.
Grain: 8 oz. American crystal 20L
Steep: Crystal Malt in a grain bag with three gallons of water. Heat to 170 degrees F. Hold at 170 for 20 minutes. Remove grain bag.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.050 3.5 gallons
3.3 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Light dry malt extract
Add 1 Tb. ground corriander for the last 20 minutes of the boil.
Add 1 tsp. Irish Moss for the last ten minutes of the boil.
Cool quickly. An imersion cooler works well for this size batch.
Hops: .5 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 45 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (aroma)
Yeast: Hydrate Coopers Dry Ale Yeast, 7 gr.
Log: Boil 1 cup water and 1 tsp. ground corriander. Cool. Add to secondary fermenter without splashing.
Carbonation: 1/2 cup corn sugar in 1/2 cup boiled water.
