5 HCU (~5 SRM)
Bitterness: 33 IBU
OG: 1.078 FG: 1.004

Water: None
Grain: 15 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. Melanoidin
Mash: 70% efficiency
- Mashed @ 170F for 60 minutes.
- Used 3 gallons of water when mashing. Had problems with the grains
soaking it up. Had to add 3 more gallons during sparging to get back
3 gallons.

- 16lbs of grain was too much. Consider 12lbs next time.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.129 3 gallons
Forgot the Irish Moss.
Hops: 0.60 oz. Bullion (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
0.60 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 45 min.)
0.60 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 30 min.)
0.60 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: - Used Wyeast 1968 London ESB.
- Did not do a yeast starter.
Log: - Added gelatin during racking. Added 1 teaspoon of gelatin to a
pint (2-cups) of water. Heated water and dissolved gelatin before adding to carboy. Note: do not boil water.
- Start SG: 1.040@80f (1.040 + 0.004 = 1.044 at 60f)
- Finish SG: 1.004@60f
- Alcohol: 1.044 - 1.004 + 105 = 4.2% (105 is part of equation)
Carbonation: - Used Molasses for carbonation during bottling. 1 teaspoon per 12oz
bottle.
Tasting: - A great tasting bitter beer.
- Cool orange color.
- Clear (gelatin seemed to clear up the foggy look).
