Steam IPA

Very good IPA with a "steamy" flavor

Beer: Steam IPA Style: India Pale Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
46 HCU (~21 SRM)
Bitterness: 15 IBU
OG: 1.075 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 8.2% v/v (6.4% w/w)
Grain: 1 lb. American crystal 120L
Steep: Add grains to cold water and bring to a boil, simmer 15 minutes
and sparge into boiling water. rinse grains with cold water and
bing up to 2 gal. Return to boil add all DME and boiling hops.
Boil for 50 minutes and add boiling hops, irish moss, and gypsum.
Boil 10 minutes add aroma hops sparge into 3 gal of water allow
to cool add dry hops and yeast
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.188 2 gallons
3 lb. Amber dry malt extract
6 lb. Light malt extract
Hops: 1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: White labs San Francisco Lagger Yeast
Carbonation: 1.25 # of DME was used
Tasting: Excellent IPA could use more hops but that's about all it need!!
