Grand Slam India Pale Ale

Grand Slam Beer- So good it's like hitting a homerun.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5.0 gallons
Color:
18 HCU (~11 SRM)
Bitterness: 13 IBU
OG: 1.050 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 4.9% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Water: tap water
Grain: 1 lb. 1 oz. American 2-row
Steep: steep grains 20- 30 minutes in 1 1/2 gallons of boiled water
Boil: 45 minutes SG 1.168 1.5 gallons
6 lb. 6 oz. Amber malt extract
after steeping grains, add extract and 1 oz Chinook Hops. Boil 45 minutes, adding 1 oz Cascade Hops in final 1-2 minutes before end
of boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Chinook (12% AA, 45 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: 6 Grams Muntons Dry Yeast.
Log: Place 3 gallons cold water to fermenter. Add mixture from brew pot then top off fermenter to 5 gallons with cold water. Add 1 oz oak chips (after having sanitized in separate pot in same way vegetables are steamed). Add dry yeast by sprinkling into fermenter and stir vigourously with sanitized spoon 2 times. Primary fermentation 7 days in plastic and secondary 7 days in plastic.
Carbonation: Bottled with 5 oz dextrose and carbonated for 4 weeks.
Tasting: Tasted superb. Wouldn't change a thing. Will get better over next few weeks.
