Afterburner Ale

Great brew. Brewed to replicate Liberty ale and comes fairly close. I used Wyeast 1098, but next time may try the chico (American 1056 or American II 1272)

Alcohol: 5.6% v/v (4.4% w/w)
Grain: 9 lb. American 2-row
8 oz. American crystal 40L
Mash: 77% efficiency
Step mash with protein rest at 122F for 30 min, then 154F for 1 hr, mash out and sparge
Boil: 80 minutes SG 1.047 6.5 gallons
1 lb. Corn sugar
Irish moss 15min
Hops: 1.25 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cluster (7% AA, 60 min.)
.25 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 30 min.)
.25 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast 1098 British pale w/ 1 qt starter
Log: primary for 9 days/ secondary 7 days dry hopped with 3/4 oz cascade
Tasting: good clone of Anchor's Liberty Ale
