Great lawnmower beer. Brewed for the 2001 Great Arizona Beer Fest.

Alcohol: 5.7% v/v (4.5% w/w)
Water: RO water only.
Grain: 14 lb. 8 oz. American 2-row
2 lb. 8 oz. Flaked corn
1 lb. 0 oz. Rice (raw)
Mash: 76% efficiency
3-step mash: 124°F 20 min, 142°F 30 min, 152°F 30 min, mashout 168°F
Mashed with 6 gal water, sparged with 10. PBV is 10.5 gal, ferment 10 (hop splooge). Gravity pre-boil is 1.038, post is 1.049.
Boil: 75 minutes SG 1.037 13.8 gallons
Irish Moss, 1 tsp 25 min before end.
Hops: 1 oz. Mt. Hood (4.5% AA, 90 min.)
1 oz. Mt. Hood (4.5% AA, 45 min.)
1 oz. Mt. Hood (4.5% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: White Labs WLP-029 Koelsch, started 2 cups 2 days in advance in 1.040 starter. Pour off supernatant, ptich slurry at 75°F.
Log: Ferment at 68°F 5 days, secondary 62°F 16 days, keg and chill to 36°F while carbonating.
Carbonation: 12 psi, 2.6 vol (36°F).
