Nearly Water

Entering the realm of commercial American beer for the sake of the marriage.... What can I say? My wife won't drink my Stout's.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 6.5 gallons
Color:
7 HCU (~6 SRM)
Bitterness: 8 IBU
OG: 1.049 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.1% v/v (4.0% w/w)
Grain: 1 lb. American 6-row
8 oz. Flaked corn
Steep: Standard Step Mashing in order to develop enzymes necessary to convert starches from the flaked maize.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.107 3 gallons
6 lb. Light dry malt extract
8 oz. Rice extract
4 oz. Cane sugar
Irish Moss last 15 min's/gelatin 2-4 days prior to bottling.
Hops: .5 oz. Saaz (3.75% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Tettnanger (4.5% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Tettnanger (4.5% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Saaz (aroma)
.5 oz. Tettnanger (aroma)
Yeast: Your choice
Carbonation: 3.0 volumes Corn Sugar: 5.81 oz. for 5 gallons @ 70°F
