11 Oatmeal Stout

Good and chewy. Starts out chocolate with a coffee finish.

Bitterness: 29 IBU
OG: 1.054 FG: 1.014
Alcohol: 5.2% v/v (4.1% w/w)
Water: My water profile is identical to Munich. Added 1 tsp CaCO3 to adjust pH of mash to 5.2.
Grain: 7 lb. American 2-row
16 oz. American crystal 60L
8 oz. American chocolate
8 oz. Roasted barley
1 lb. Flaked oats
4 oz. Flaked wheat
Mash: 82% efficiency
110° beta glucan rest for 20 minutes
154° sachrification rest for 90 minutes
Boil: 70 minutes SG 1.044 6.8 gallons
Hops: 1 oz. Fuggles (4.% AA, 60 min.)
1.5 oz. Fuggles (4.% AA, 30 min.)
Yeast: DCL Safeale S-04
Log: Fermentation and secondary at 64° F, one, then two weeks, respectively.
Carbonation: I chose to carbonate to 2.5 atmoshperess.
Maybe a bit much for the style, but suits my tastes.
Tasting: wheat for head and lacing
roast barley for coffee note
chocolate malt and crystal for chocolate sweetness
