Alcohol: 5.8% v/v (4.6% w/w)
Water: Calcium carbonate in mash 1 tsp
Grain: 10 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. British crystal 50-60L
1 lb. British chocolate
1 lb. Roasted barley
1 lb. Flaked barley
Mash: 70% efficiency
156°F for 60 min. 1qt water per pound of grain. Sparge with 5 gallons water at 170°F
Boil: 75 minutes SG 1.053 6.6 gallons
irish moss at 15 min
Hops: 2 oz. Cascade (5.5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (5.5% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (FWH) (5.5% AA, 20 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (5.5% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: 1084 Irish Ale (1qt Starter)
Log: Primary fermentation 1 week
Secondary 2-4 weeks
Carbonation: Bottle Condition with 3/4 cup corn sugar
Tasting: Tastes very good. Best when aged for 4-6 weeks.
