Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
114 HCU (~38 SRM)
Bitterness: 9 IBU
OG: 1.075 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 8.4% v/v (6.6% w/w)
Water: water from the birthplace of the Marines, Philadelphia.
Grain: 8 oz. British chocolate
Steep: Steeped 8oz. of British Chocolate Malt 'till just before boil point.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.249 1.5 gallons
6.6 lb. Dark malt extract
1 lb. Amber dry malt extract
1 lb. Honey
1 lb. Molasses
Hops: 1 oz. British Target (11.9% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. British Target (11.9% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. British Target (aroma)
Yeast: EasYeast American Ale Liquid Yeast
Log: Quick brew, I was out of beer! Brewed on 09/26/01 and bottled on 10/01/01 with just a single stage fermentation.
Carbonation: 1 1/4 cups of M&F Extra Light DME
Tasting: Very malty and rich with lot's of body. This beer is pretty close to a meal in itself. Oorah! Everyone said they liked this one best of all.
