Alcohol: 6.2% v/v (4.8% w/w)
Water: Kroger-purchased drinking water, with 2g boiled and refrigerated to chill wort.
Grain: 10 oz. American crystal 60L
10 oz. American chocolate
4 oz. American black patent
Steep: 150 degrees for 30 minutes, then sparge with 1/2-1 gallon of 150-170 degree water
Boil: 45 minutes SG 1.059 5.5 gallons
4 lb. Light malt extract
3 lb. 8 oz. Light dry malt extract
Add Cascade and 1 tsp Irish Moss after 45 minutes, then boil 15 minutes longer.
Hops: .5 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Nugget (12% AA, 60 min.)
.25 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast 1056 American Ale, fermenting at 68-72 degrees.
Carbonation: 3/4 c. priming sugar + 1 pint water, boiled, added to bottling bucket prior to siphoning in from secondary.
