Mocha Porter

Strong holliday brew. Chocolate malt, 8oz bakers chocolate, 1 lb fair trade coffee steeped at end of boil.

Water: bottled/filtered, 2 tsp Gyp in mash.

1 lb. American crystal 60L
2 lb. British chocolate
1 lb. British black patent
Mash: 86% efficiency
1 hr. at 155
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.070 13 gallons
add bakers choc in last 15 min of boil and steep the coffee in a bag for five min after boil.
Hops: 5 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
2 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: White Labs Dry English Ale Yeast, Starter.
Carbonation: Keg, Chill, Force carbonate, Drink.
Tasting: Dry, smooth, mocha aftertaste. Full bodied.
