Mash: 65% efficiency
MASHED GRAINS FOR 40 MIN AT 155DEG.WITH 1.5 GALLONS WATER AND GYPSUM, SPARGED WITH A GALLON AND A HALF OF WATER AT 175DEG.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.092 4.25 gallons
4 lb. Light dry malt extract
2 lb. Amber dry malt extract
1.5 lb. Honey
ADD ADDITIONAL 180 DEG. WATER AS NEEDED TO BRING TOTAL BOIL TO 4.25 GALLONS
Hops: 1.5 oz. NUGGET (12.5% AA, 60 min.)
1.5 oz. CASCADE (aroma)
Yeast: 1084 IRISH ALE YEAST
Log: FERMENT IN GLASS @ 68DEG. FOR 12 DAYS,MOVE TO SECONDARY FERMENTER, ADD 1 TSP. OF GELATIN IN 1 CUP HOT WATER TO SECONDARY PRIOR TO TRANSFER IN FERMENTER AND HOLD @ 65DEG. FOR 15 DAYS. HOLD IN BOTTLE FOR MINIMUM OF 4 TO 6 WEEKS.
Carbonation: .75 CUP CORN SUGAR OR 1.25 CUPS LIGHT DME INTO SECONDARY PRIOR TO BOTTLING.
Tasting: HAVE YET TO BREW THIS ONE.I WILL FOLLOW UP AFTER TASTING.
