5 oz. British chocolate
10 oz. British black patent
4 oz. Roasted barley
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.087 3.5 gallons
6 lb. Light dry malt extract
3 oz. Molasses
Used black treacle instead of molasses. Added irish moss with 15 minutes left in boil.
Hops: 1.2 oz. Kent Goldings (6.6% AA, 90 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (5.4% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast's Scottish Ale 1728
Carbonation: Good after two weeks in bottle. Used 5 oz. Corn sugar. Nice head retention after only two weeks.
Tasting: Very smooth after two weeks. Exceeded expectations. Has a wonderful stout flavor
