New World Porter

A nice blend of English and American ingredients should make this porter an ideal elixir for my upcoming move… Hopefully it's good enough to entice some help from my friends.

Beer: New World Porter Style: Robust Porter
Type: All grain Size: 6.0 gallons
Color:
77 HCU (~29 SRM)
Bitterness: 30 IBU
OG: 1.070 FG: 1.016
Alcohol: 7.0% v/v (5.5% w/w)
Water: Tapwater with 1 tsp gypsum
Grain: 6 lb. American 2-row
5 lb. British pale
1 lb. British brown
8 oz. American crystal 120L
8 oz. American chocolate
4 oz. American black patent
Mash: 80% efficiency
1.3 qt/lb at 152° for 60 min. Decoction mash out. Fly sparge.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.056 7.5 gallons
12 oz. Brown sugar
Add brown sugar last five minutes.
Hops: 1 oz. UK Target (9.8% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. US Cascade (5.5% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: WY1450 Denny's Favorite
Log: Ferment at 62°F, cold crash and keg.
