Small Mouth Ale

An attemp at Bass (hence the name). Not the same but good on its own.

Beer: Small Mouth Ale Style: English Pale Ale
Type: All grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
10 HCU (~7 SRM)
Bitterness: 32 IBU
OG: 1.059 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 6.3% v/v (4.9% w/w)
Water: Used distilled water with .5 oz. Burtons Water Salts
Grain: 7 lb. 12 oz. British pale
4 oz. British crystal 95-115L
2 lb. Flaked barley
Mash: 80% efficiency
Recirulation mash at 149° for 85 minutes.
Boil: 75 minutes SG 1.059 5 gallons
1/4 tsp. irish moss at ten minutes
Hops: 1.25 oz. Brewers Gold (8.0% AA, 75 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (5% AA, 7 min.)
Yeast: Used Danstar London, 5g. sour mashed twelve hours prior with 1 oz Xlight DME. Added one tsp. Fermax to primary.
Log: Primary at 65 for eight days. Bottle aged for five weeks.
Carbonation: 2.0 volumes Honey: 3.50 oz. for 5 gallons @ 70°F
Added Honey one day before bottling. Presence of some carbonation forced air out of the top space in the bottles.
Tasting: Very nice! Lots of tingly carbonation and good head from the flaked barley.
