Strongarm IPA

First try at IPA style. Based loosely on New Belgium's Ranger.

8 HCU (~6 SRM)
Bitterness: 72 IBU
OG: 1.063 FG: 1.009
Alcohol: 7.0% v/v (5.5% w/w)
Water: 60% city water with Campden treatment
40% distilled water
Grain: 8 lb. 4 oz. British pale
3 oz. American crystal 120L
Mash: 80% efficiency
148° for 60 minutes, single infusion
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.050 7 gallons
2 lb. Cane sugar
Add cane sugar and 1/2 tsp Irish moss at 15 mins
Hops: 1 oz. Columbus (14.4% AA, 60 min.)
.75 oz. Challenger (7.7% AA, 30 min.)
.75 oz. Cascade (5% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs California Ale V (WLP051)
used 1 vial with 1 pint 1.040 starter, pitched all
Log: Brew date: 4/22/11
Ferment 64° 3 days then ramp up a few degrees until fully attenuated
Dry hop 1.25oz Cascade 7 days
Carbonation: 2.2 volumes Corn Sugar: 3.59 oz. for 5 gallons @ 68°F
