Spring Thaw Brown

Brown like the muddy rivers in the spring. This will put a warm smile upon ones lips. Caramely sweet with plenty of hops for a brown.

Bitterness: 54 IBU
OG: 1.064 FG: 1.014
Alcohol: 6.4% v/v (5.1% w/w)
Water: beautiful washington tap water with 5.2 stabilizer
Grain: 12 lb. American 2-row
4 oz. American victory
6 oz. Belgian aromatic
1 lb. American crystal 60L
4 oz. Belgian Special B
6 oz. American chocolate
Mash: 75% efficiency
90 minute infusion @ 153 boiled 1 gallon of first runnings the special b is actually special roast i just didnt see it in the data base for the grains
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.052 8 gallons
12 oz. Molasses @ 15 min
whirfloc 1 Tblspn Cocoa powder 1/2 tsp yeast nutrient
Hops: 1 oz. Chinook (13.4% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 25 min.)
.5 oz. Centennial (aroma)
.5 oz. Chinook (aroma)
Yeast: 1.5 qt starter 1084 Irish Ale
Log: 10 days primary in glass @ 67 then vanilla vodka soaked oak chips and 10 days in secondary @ 50 degrees
Carbonation: bottled with dme
Tasting: this is one of my go to house brews. it keeps getting closer to just the way i want it. It never seems to last long however
