Reading Ale

Pieced this recipe together from a couple others I found in an 18th century brewing text, adding some amber malt and dropping the coriander.

Beer: Reading Ale Style: English Old/Strong Ale
Type: All grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
28 HCU (~15 SRM)
Bitterness: 37 IBU
OG: 1.075 FG: 1.018
Alcohol: 7.3% v/v (5.7% w/w)
Water: Add 1 teaspoon of gypsum to mash.
Grain: 9 lb. British pale
3 lb. British amber
Mash: 75% efficiency
Mash for 90 mins at 154°
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.062 6 gallons
1 lb. Brown sugar
Add whirlfloc tab 20 mins from the end, add 1/8 teaspoon of crushed or fresh ground Grains of Paradise 5 mins from the end.
Hops: 1 oz. Nugget (12% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: White Labs Dry English Ale Yeast
Carbonation: Bottle or keg using 1 1/4 light dry malt extract.
