Alcohol: 8.3% v/v (6.5% w/w)
Grain: 1 lb. British Pilsner
1 lb. American crystal 10L
.25 lb. American chocolate
Steep: Steep grains for 45 min @ 153°in 1 gallon H2O. Sparge with 1.5 gal 170° H2O.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.159 2.5 gallons
7 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Rice extract
1.0 lb. Honey
1oz Irish moss @ 45 min.
Hops: 1.0 oz. Liberty (4% AA, 60 min.)
1.0 oz. Saaz (aroma)
Yeast: wyeast american ale 3333
Log: Ferment @ 68-72°F for 7-10 days. Transfer to 2ndary for one week @ 68-72°F.
Very hoppy/alcoholly until 4 weeks bottle aging. Great malty flavor after.
Carbonation: 4.0 volumes Corn Sugar: 8.42 oz. for 5.0 gallons @ 68°F
Tasting: Very flavorful after bottle aging >month. Very light mouth but big malt flavor and a hint of honey.
