Harvest Red

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
49 HCU (~22 SRM)
Bitterness: 44 IBU
OG: 1.055 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.8% v/v (4.5% w/w)
Water: Using straight tap water
Grain: 4 oz. American crystal 20L
4 oz. Roasted barley
4 oz. Belgian Special B
Steep: Grains go in a hop bag. Toss them in the water, light the burner, bring to a boil then remove bag squeezing out all the liquid.

Also adding the first hop addition with the grains, right when the burner is lit.
Boil: 45 minutes SG 1.110 2.5 gallons
2 lb. Light dry malt extract
1 lb. Amber dry malt extract
3.5 lb. Light liquid malt extract
Hops: 1 oz. Zues (15.5% AA, 45 min.)
1 oz. Zues (15.5% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Mt. Hood (4.5% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Mt. Hood (aroma)
Yeast: Using 1056 (American Ale yeast) this time around.
Carbonation: 2.2 volumes Honey: 3.93 oz. for 5 gallons @ 65°F
