Type: All grain Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
6 HCU (~5 SRM)
Bitterness: 13 IBU
OG: 1.050 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 4.9% v/v (3.8% w/w)
Water: Tapwater with 2 tsp gypsum and 1 TBS 5.2 added to mash.
Grain: 4 lb. American 2-row
4 lb. Wheat Malt
8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
6 oz. Gambrinus Honey Malt
2 lb. Rice Hulls
Mash: 80% efficiency
Single infusion mash at 153F for 60 min. Sparge with 170F water to reach 7.5 gallons in brewpot.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.036 7.5 gallons
8 oz. Honey
1 tsp Irish Moss (rehydrated) for last 15 minutes. Add honey at flameout.
Hops: .5 oz. Perle (6.5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Perle (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs 320 "American Wheat" in a 1 quart starter.
Log: Primary at 68F for 7 days. Add 2 oz blueberry extract when racking to secondary, keep at 68F for 10 days. Add remaining 2 oz blueberry extract at kegging/bottling time.
Carbonation: 2.4 volumes Keg: 10.2 psi @ 38°F
Keg and force carbonate.
Tasting: Mmmm... great lawnmower beer!
