Lil Red Riding Hood

This recipe has been modified. It will be used to blend with Hadrian's Wall which came out way too bitter.

Type: Partial mash Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
34 HCU (~17 SRM)
Bitterness: 2 IBU
OG: 1.075 FG: 1.020
Alcohol: 7.1% v/v (5.6% w/w)
Grain: .5 lb. American Vienna
.5 lb. American Munich
.5 lb. American crystal 20L
1 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
2 oz. Belgian Special B
2 oz. Roasted barley
.5 lb. American victory
Mash: 65% efficiency
Steep grains in 7 Quarts of water for 60 mins at 152° .
Rinse 7 Quarts of water at 165°.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.118 3.5 gallons
8 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Brown sugar
Bring kettle to a boil, turn off flame, Add mash with 3-4Lbs LME to kettle, continue boil. Hold back 4-5Lbs of LME & Brown Sugar until flame out and add Irish Moss & Yeast Nutrient, Stirr with no flame for 15 minutes. Color SRM will be lighter maybe 15.
Hops: .5 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 15 min.)
2 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: WLP004 Irish Ale Yeast
Carbonation: 1.8 volumes Corn Sugar: 2.59 oz. for 5.0 gallons @ 70°F
Tasting: Normally I would shoot for an IBU between 25 - 35. This recipe is lower because it will be blended with "Hadrian's Wall" which came out twice as bitter as desired.
