Alcohol: 6.5% v/v (5.1% w/w)
Grain: 4.4kg Maris Otter
550g Victory OR Melanoidin
275g Chocolate Malt OR Carafa I
275g Black Patent OR Carafa III
Mash: 78% efficiency
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.056 27 liters
550g Brown sugar
5 Morita chilis added at 50 minutes
3 Guajillo chilis added at 50 minutes
Hops: 50g Fuggles (4.75% AA, 60 min.)
35g Fuggles (4.75% AA, 30 min.)
18g Fuggles (4.75% AA, 10 min.)
Yeast: Danstar - Nottingham
Log: Fermentation temp. 22-24 Degrees C. ???
Tasting: a nice chili beer. The warmth of the chilis really comes through on
the back of the throat. nice roasty porter with the kick of smoked
chilis. Doesn’t get much better than this. Try it with BBQ ribs or
chocolate.
