Bitterness: 104 IBU
OG: 1.065 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 6.9% v/v (5.4% w/w)
Water: Filtered tap water to remove chlorine.
Grain: 7 oz. American crystal 40L
Steep: Heat 1 gallon of water to 155° and steep the 40L Crystal for 30 minutes. Sparge with 1 gallon of 150° water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.057 6 gallons
8 lb. Light malt extract
8 oz. Light dry malt extract
8 oz. Corn sugar
Get the malt tea boiling, add the DME, Corn Sugar, and first addition of hops saving the LME for the last 20 minutes.
Irish Moss last 15 minutes
1/2 tsp Wyeast Nutrient last 10 minutes
Hops: 2 oz. Chinook (11.4% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (7.5% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Amarillo (8.2% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
1 oz. Amarillo (aroma)
2 oz. Simcoe (dry hop in secondary) (aroma)
2 oz. Citra (dry hop in secondary) (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast 1056 pitched from a starter.
