Birthday Ale

This recipe is based on a cream ale style.Brewed it a day before my birthday - Also was batch #63, which was the year I was born.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
11 HCU (~8 SRM)
Bitterness: 9 IBU
OG: 1.051 FG: 1.008
Alcohol: 5.5% v/v (4.3% w/w)
Water: City water via water softner.
Grain: 0 lb. 8 oz. Belgian aromatic
0 lb. 8 oz. American crystal 10L
0 lb. 8 oz. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
0 lb. 8 oz. Flaked rice
Steep: Steep grains 150 degrees for 30 minutes
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.073 3.5 gallons
6 lb. 0 oz. Light malt extract
Irish moss 5 minutes before end of boil.
Hops: .5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: repitched yeast cake from previous batch(a pilsen) - 2qts.
Log: OG was actually 1.042.Took 2 quarts of gyle for priming pre-pitch.(Strain before bottling).Transfer after 7 days.Add gelatin when transferring.Rack a second time and cold crash for 2 weeks.
Carbonation: 1.5 quarts gyle.
Tasting: Exceptional.Was the hit on the front porch in summer.
