20 HCU (~12 SRM)
Bitterness: 53 IBU
OG: 1.067 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 7.4% v/v (5.8% w/w)
Water: Used bottled drinking water.
Grain: 1 lb. American Munich
1 lb. American crystal 40L
Steep: Put 1 lb Munich and 1 lb Crystal into grain bag and 1 tsp gypsum to about 2 gallons water. Steeped ~ 160F for 45 min. Removed grains.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.135 2.5 gallons
7 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Light dry malt extract
Dissolved 1 lb light DME in cold water, added to wort and added 7 lbs LME to wort. Brought to boil and then removed from heat. Brought back to boil and added 2.5 oz Centennial hops (60 min). At 45 min added ~ 0.5 oz Cascade. At 15 min added 2.5 oz Cascaded and 1 tsp Irish Moss. Put into ice bath.
Hops: 2.5 oz. Centennial (9.1% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (5.4% AA, 45 min.)
2.5 oz. Cascade (5.4% AA, 15 min.)
2 oz. Kent Goldings (aroma)
Yeast: WYEAST American 1056.
