ESB Evil Satan's Broth

A special Beer brewed with El Jeffe's new tun. Lightly touched with NW hops and big on the malt side. Just in the style guidelines for gravity...phew. Pitching 1968 the king of britsh yeasts.

Type: All grain Size: 10.6 gallons
Color:
12 HCU (~8 SRM)
Bitterness: 54 IBU
OG: 1.055 FG: 1.013
Alcohol: 5.4% v/v (4.3% w/w)
Water: Well water from Tenino. A little gypsum to boost the bitterness.
Grain: 20 lb. American 2-row
5 lb. American Munich
2 lb. American crystal 20L
Mash: 60% efficiency
Mashing in at 153 and holding for 1 hour. Mashout at 178 and vorlauf multiple times for clarity. Batch-sparge to attain 13+ gallons.
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.044 13.3 gallons
No Moss, 1968 will clear on its own.
Hops: 1.9 oz. Chinook (12% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: 1968 a good year :-)
Log: It sucks using american malts but it is all we can afford!
Carbonation: Force carb, just enough, not too much. It needs to drink easy.
