31 HCU (~16 SRM)
Bitterness: 22 IBU
OG: 1.039 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 3.1% v/v (2.5% w/w)
Water: Teaspoon Gypsum
Grain: 2 lb. British pale
4 oz. Belgian biscuit
8 oz. British brown
8 oz. British crystal 50-60L
2 oz. British chocolate
Mash: 50% efficiency
156degrees for 60 minutes
Boil: 45 minutes SG 1.056 3.5 gallons
3 lb. Light dry malt extract
Hops: 1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 45 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: Nottingham 11g packet
Log: ...I pitched one 11g package, I dont think it was enough..The attenuation was low ,I missed the mark by 4 points, next time I would use two 11g packets..
Also use 4 oz of the chocolate malt instead of 2, the color is a little pale, Beer Recipator helped me to make this descision, nextime I'd use the 4 oz
Carbonation: keg it up!!
Tasting: This was more like a Newcastle than a Samuel Smiths...
