This recipe started from an email conversation around A-Rod's emergence as both a better human being and a post season force, simultaneously. Coincidence? No! Billy D and I say. If he pulls all the way through like this to the WS then I promised no-doubt the next beer I brew is the Ale-Rod. I've trying to explain that there is really a great lesson for humanity here and that the haters were just being bitter people. Bitterness: 43 IBU
OG: 1.047 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 4.5% v/v (3.5% w/w)
Water: Seattle Tap
Grain: 4 oz. American chocolate
4 oz. American black patent
0 oz. Raw barley
4 oz. Flaked oats
4 oz. Rolled oats
Steep: Steep specialty grains up 150° and hold for 30 min.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.059 4 gallons
6 lb. Light malt extract
0 lb. Light dry malt extract
Hops: 2 oz. Mt. Hood (6.7% AA, 60 min.)
2 oz. Mt. Hood (aroma)
Yeast: Poured over the lees of the Victory Ale (there is a metaphor there)
