Summertime IPA

Best homebrew IPA I've tasted! With the magnum hops taking care of the bitterness and large late addition and dry hopping taking care of aroma and flavor, it makes for one hoppy treat. Belgian malts add subtle but pleasant body and mouth feel!

Type: Partial mash Size: 5.25 gallons
Color:
15 HCU (~9 SRM)
Bitterness: 53 IBU
OG: 1.065 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 7.1% v/v (5.6% w/w)
Water: .5t Gypsum in both mash water and sparge water
Grain: 3 lb. American 2-row
.5 lb. German Munich
.5 lb. Belgian aromatic
.5 lb. Belgian biscuit
.75 lb. American crystal 10L
.25 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Mash: 60% efficiency
Mash in at 148° F in 5 - 6 quarts of water.
Hold at 133° F for 30 min
Add 2 quarts boiling water. Hold at 155° F for 30-45 min
Then bring up to 167° F - hold for 15 min
Sparge with 6-8 quarts boiling water.
Boil: minutes SG 1.114 3 gallons
6 lb. Light malt extract
1 tsp. Irish moss powder added during last 5 minutes of boil
Hops: 1 oz. Magnum (15% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Magnum (15% AA, 45 min.)
1 oz. Liberty (aroma)
.5 oz. Magnum (aroma)
1 oz. Glacier (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs Pacific Ale Yeast
Log: Dry hop in secondary with 1 oz each of: willamette, glacier, and liberty
Carbonation: .75 C corn sugar
