Type: Extract Size: 5 gallons
Color:
18 HCU (~11 SRM)
Bitterness: 36 IBU
OG: 1.054 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 5.4% v/v (4.3% w/w)
Water: If the tap water is hard, use it. If it's soft (soapy), use bottled spring or distilled water (cheapest supermarket brand).
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.090 3 gallons
3 lb. Light dry malt extract
2 lb. 8 oz. Amber dry malt extract
8 oz. Brown sugar
1/2 tsp irish moss 15 minutes remaining
Hops: 0.5 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 60 min.)
0.5 oz. Northern Brewer (8.5% AA, 45 min.)
0.5 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 15 min.)
0.5 oz. Kent Goldings (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast London ESB Ale (Wyeast #1968) or similar high floc medium attenuation yeast ... follow smackpack instructions
