Alcohol: 6.3% v/v (4.9% w/w)
Water: Munich base water
Grain: 3.5 lb. German Pilsner
7 lb. German Munich
8 oz. Belgian aromatic
4 oz. Belgian CaraMunich
Mash: 70% efficiency
Mash in 152F for 75 min. Batch sparged from there.
Boil: 70 minutes SG 1.054 5.4 gallons
IM at 15 min.
Hops: .5 oz. Magnum (13.6% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: WLP8338 Yeast, from Helles cake.
Log: 4 weeks at 45-48F. 8 weeks at 41-45F.
Carbonation: Medium carbonation
Tasting: Malty aroma and big melainoidan flavor along with bread crust. Hops provide just the right amount of spicy balance. Wouldn't change a thing.
