Summer Sunset Cream Ale

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
8 HCU (~6 SRM)
Bitterness: 5 IBU
OG: 1.046 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 4.0% v/v (3.1% w/w)
Water: 5 gallons of reverse osmosis water
Grain: 8 oz. German Munich
Steep: steep grains from room temp when water is added to the pot. Pull grains at 165°. Drain in a sanitized pitcher and add reserved liquid to wort.
Boil: 1 hour minutes SG 1.066 3.5 gallons
6 lb. Light malt extract
Added 3 Oz. of freshly washed and scraped Orange Peel during last two minutes of boil and leave to ferment
Hops: .5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 20 min.)
1.5 oz. Cascade (aroma)
3 oz. Fresh Orange Peel (aroma)
Yeast: Standard Dry American Ale dry yeast
Log: fermented 10 days.
racked to secondary for 3 weeks.
Carbonation: Bottle Fermentation
Tasting: Finished a.b.v. is about 5.2%. Nice golden orange color, with apricot notes and well rounded sweetness.
