Bitterness: 21 IBU
OG: 1.048 FG: 1.012
Alcohol: 4.7% v/v (3.7% w/w)
Water: Ice Mountain Spring water purchased in two 2.5g jugs.
Grain: 1 lb. American crystal 40L
8 oz. Roasted barley
Steep: Soaked the grains in 1.5 gallons of water for 10 minutes before heating.
Brought the water to 165° and shut heat off, steeped for 30 minutes.
Removed the grain bags.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.161 1.5 gallons
6 lb. Amber malt extract
One tablespoon of flake Irish Moss at 15 minutes
Hops: 1 oz. Brewers Gold (9.7% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Brewers Gold (9.7% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Cluster (7.9% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: Safbrew S-33 11.5g dry yeast.
Hydrated yeast for 30 minutes starting at 84°.
Pitched at 78°
