A stronger version of DFH's Chicory Stout, I couldn't wait until December to get theirs

Bitterness: 48 IBU
OG: 1.082 FG: 1.025
Alcohol: 7.4% v/v (5.8% w/w)
Water: 1tsp Gypsum
Grain: 8 lb. American 2-row
12 oz. Roasted barley
8 oz. Flaked barley
8 oz. Wheat malt
8 oz. Flaked oats
Mash: 70% efficiency
3oz Chicory added with grain
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.101 4.5 gallons
3 lb. Traditional Dark DME
1 lb. 8 oz. Golden Light DME
1.5oz Licorice added 40min into boil
1 Tablet Whirlfloc added 45min into boil
2oz St. John's Wort added 50min into boil
16oz Cold Pressed Coffee added to Secondary
Hops: 4 oz. Home Grown Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Fuggles (5.5% AA, 15 min.)
Yeast: WLP001 California Ale Yeast
Log: 9/29/8 Pitched yeast
10/8/8 Transfered and added cold pressed coffee, 16oz SG: 1.030, 1.024 w/ coffee
10/24/8 Bottled w/ Muntons Kreamery Mix
Carbonation: Took Forever! Not sure if it was the temp in my house but it took over a month to carbonate.
Tasting: Even before it was carbonated I knew it to be great. Not that it is, it's even better.
