K&A Cream Ale

This is Similar to R4 Brewery's Aviator Cream Ale.

Type: Partial mash Size: 5.2 gallons
Color:
6 HCU (~5 SRM)
Bitterness: 23 IBU
OG: 1.043 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 4.2% v/v (3.3% w/w)
Water: Boil 5.5 galloins of tap water. with .5 gallons for partial grain mash(steep)= 6.0 gallons of total water. After boil off and loss to tryb is around 5.2 gallons in primary fermenter
Grain: .25 lb. American crystal 20L
.5 lb. Dextrine malt (Cara-Pils)
Mash: 70% efficiency
Mash grains at 150° for 25 mins in .5 gallons of water. add to 5.5 gallons of boil water
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.037 6 gallons
4 lb. Light malt extract
1.5 lb. Corn sugar
Total boil time is 60 minutes. Add malt extract and boiling hops at begining of boil. Add corn sugar.Add a whirlfloc tab the last 15 minutes.
Hops: 1 oz. Cascade (6.3% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: US-05 ale yeast rehydrated with 1 cup steralized water at 70°
Carbonation: 2.7 volumes Keg: 15.5 psi @ 42°F
