24 HCU (~13 SRM)
Bitterness: 16 IBU
OG: 1.041 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 4.0% v/v (3.2% w/w)
Water: Inland Empire tap water for the boil. Bottled spring water to top off.
Grain: 8 oz. Smoked Malt
1 lb. American crystal 90L
Boil: 90 minutes SG 1.069 3 gallons
5 lb. Light malt extract
AAUs are used in lieu of specifying a variety of hop. This seems prudent given the current hop shortage. Use what you have, but keep it English.
Hops: 5 oz. Alpha Acid Units (1.0% AA, 60 min.)
Yeast: WLP028: Edinburgh Ale Yeast
Carbonation: 1.0 volumes Dried Malt Extract: 0.39 oz. for 4.5 gallons @ 65°F
