Beer: Terrapin Reprise Style: India Pale Ale
Type: Partial mash Size: 5.5 gallons
Color:
8 HCU (~6 SRM)
Bitterness: 92 IBU
OG: 1.047 FG: 1.014
Alcohol: 4.2% v/v (3.3% w/w)
Water: 2 tsp Gypsum
Grain: 8 oz. American 2-row (Toasted @ 350F for 10 min)
3 lb. 8 oz. American 2-row
8 oz. Belgian CaraMunich
Mash: 60% efficiency
Mash all grains in 2.5 gal at 150F for 60 min. Sparge with 2.5 gal at 170F for 15 min.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.039 6.5 gallons
3 lb. 8 oz. Light dry malt extract
1 tsp Irish Moss for last 15 minutes of boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Columbus (12% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Columbus (12% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
1 oz. Columbus (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast 1056 - American Ale
Log: Ferment 7 days at 70°F. Rack to secondary, add 1 oz Cascade hops, 1 oz Columbus hops (dry hop) and 4 oz oak chips. Allow in secondary 10 days at 60°F.
Carbonation: Keg and force carbonate
Tasting: I first made this for a buddy's bachelor party. I had my keg sitting side by side with Sierra Pale Ale. Time and time again my hophead friends chose mine over the Sierra. Good enough for me... this one's a keeper.

This time it's for MY bachelor party and were going partial mash... fare thee well.
