St. Patrick's Stout (8-1)

We have won a few awards with this recipe and this batch did not disappoint. The secret is toasting the flaked oats in the oven before steeping them.

Bitterness: 53 IBU
OG: 1.079 FG: 1.022
Alcohol: 7.3% v/v (5.8% w/w)
Grain: 1 lb. American 2-row
8 oz. British crystal 135-165L
1 lb. Flaked oats
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.113 3.5 gallons
8 lb. Dark dry malt extract
We dropped a clarification tablet in wort with 15 minutes left in the boil.
Hops: 2 oz. Northern Brewer (6.8% AA, 60 min.)
2 oz. Centennial (8.7% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Tettnanger (aroma)
Yeast: WLP007 Dry English Ale
Tasting: Cooked- 3/16/08
Secondary- 3/31/08 ish
Bottled- 4/14/08
