THIS IS A CERVEZA AMIGOS! a great amber beer that is smooth in flavor and tastes great after mowing the lawn. Similar to Dos XX's amber but with a lighter hoppiness and better aroma

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
17 HCU (~10 SRM)
Bitterness: 12 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.015
Alcohol: 4.8% v/v (3.8% w/w)
Water: 1/2 tsp gypsum
Grain: 5.0 oz. American crystal 60L
Steep: steep for 30 mins @ 160* and sparge with 2 cups sterile water @ 160 for 5 minutes to create even more amber color
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.087 3 gallons
3.3 lb. Amber malt extract
2 lb. Light dry malt extract
8.0 oz. Rice extract
.5 lb. Wheat extract
.2 lb. Brown sugar
Whirlfloc tab last 15 minutes
Hops: .80 oz. Hallertauer (4.4% AA, 60 min.)
.25 oz. Hallertauer (4.4% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Spalt (6.75% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: Muntons active ale yeast
Log: Primary at 75* for 3-5 days/ secondary at 60* for 2 weeks
Carbonation: 2.6 volumes Corn Sugar: 4.95 oz. for 5.0 gallons @ 77°F
Tasting: Next time try a high quality lager yeast!
